Online Sessions

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, I’m offering online meetings when the following are true:

  • The individual is at least 16 years old.
  • Online meetings appear to be clinically appropriate.
  • There’s a heightened health concern, such as a household member with a compromised immune system.

If interested in online sessions, please contact me directly.

WHAT TO EXPECT
I use Zoom for all online sessions. This is a common platform for online meetings of all sorts. However, unlike versions used for business meetings, socializing, and other purpose, the version we’ll be using is fully HIPAA compliant, as required by federal law. This helps assure our sessions remain confidential.

Two days before a scheduled meeting, you’ll receive an email with a link specific to that appointment. This email will go to the address on file with Mindful Therapy Group, so please make sure we’ve got the best one. If you don’t receive this email, call (206) 294-3292 at least a few hours before our appointment and the link will be sent again.

During sessions I’ll be at my home in a quiet, confidential space or at Mindful Therapy Group’s office. I’m hopeful you also have a quiet, confidential space for these sessions, as well as an appropriate computer with a good internet connection. If not, let me know as soon as possible so we can identify another option.

Typically, the front desk staff would collect co-pays or other fees when you check-in for a session. To simplify the collection of these fees, I’m asking that you provide credit card information in advance. This information will be kept in our HIPAA-compliant software and we’ll only charge co-pays or other pre-approved fees after the session takes place. To put a credit card on file with us, call the front desk at (425) 640-7009.

My experience has been that online sessions almost always go smoothly. However, should there be any technical issues immediately before or during our appointment, you can call or text me directly at (206) 327-4478. If you have any concerns or questions about any of this, please let me know.
