I frequently meet with teens and emerging adults following a hospitalization due to a suicide attempt, significant ideation, or other mental health crisis. When I do, my initial goals are to assure safety and help you develop the ability to maintain that safety. This requires consistent, predictable attendance at sessions.
With that in mind, when I take on a client following a recent hospitalization, I require that you schedule and attend two sessions per week for at least the first six to eight weeks. These sessions will be held in-person at my office in Tukwila or Fremont.
During this initial phase of treatment, I expect no missed sessions. I understand that life happens and will allow up to two rescheduled sessions during this time, but only if held during the same week and if my availability allows.
If you have questions about these expectations, I invite you to contact me.
