For 25 years, David Flack has provided counseling to teens and emerging adults with mental health challenges, histories of trauma, substance use disorders, and behavioral addictions. Located in Seattle, Washington, he is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Substance Use Disorders Professional, and Approved Clinical Supervisor. He holds a Post-Master’s Certificate in Trauma-Informed Care and Counseling from the University at Buffalo and a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from Bessel van der Kolk’s Trauma Research Foundation.
In addition to his clinical work, David has presented well over 100 times at international, national, and regional conferences, has published several articles, and regularly facilitates well-received professional development trainings for helping professionals. He is considered by many to be a Subject Matter Expert on substance use among teens and emerging adults, treating sexual trauma in adolescent males, and engaging treatment resistant youth. In 2026, David was presented the Outstanding Service Award during the 40th Anniversary Washington State Co-occurring Disorders Conference, for his “many years of dedication and meaningful contributions to the field.”
